Truth follows 34-year-old insurance investigator Alice Monroe. Scarred by past romantic fraud, she uncovers a suspicious ten-million-dollar claim filed by Paul after his wife Violet supposedly drowned in Lake Michigan with no body found. Alice digs up evidence of long-term domestic violence, learning Violet faked her death to escape Paul’s abuse and gambling debts. Alice traps Paul and exposes his insurance scam. Using her bonus, she launches the Truth Fund to aid wronged claimants. Violet rebuilds a peaceful life, while Alice devotes her whole life to seeking justice for vulnerable people.
