Deaf cobbler Maria has worked on a Boston street for 30 years, raising her daughter Sofia alone. Facing eviction for lacking a permit, neighbor Emily launches a petition, contacts media, and secures city council support—Maria's stall is saved and designated a “community cultural heritage.” Emily and programmer Benjamin develop the “SilentCraft” app, helping deaf small vendors take orders online. Maria takes on deaf apprentice Martin, passing down her craft; Sofia graduates and founds the nonprofit “SilentBridge.” The app goes open-source, spreading across the U.S. and to Kenya, helping over 1,000 disabled vendors globally. Core: a woman who cannot speak makes herself heard through craft, an app, and apprentices—silent skills deserve to be seen
