Victor, chairman of the Grant Foundation, receives news of his biological daughter before a multi-billion dollar acquisition. He postpones the signing and rushes to Kingsley College, only to find his daughter Mia, who has been missing for eighteen years, being framed for stealing a necklace and publicly humiliated by Chloe, the daughter of a school board member; the real reason is that Mia filmed Chloe driving under the influence and fleeing the scene. Principal Harris, Ryan (son of Sheriff Walker), and Richard (Chloe's father, the head of the Kane Corporation) join forces to pressure Mia into confessing, force her mother Eileen to kneel, and even drive her to the rooftop. After Victor rescues Mia, a joint investigation team gradually uncovers the truth: the Kane Foundation intercepted Eileen's letters to Victor for eighteen years and even forged the mother and daughter's death records, causing the family to miss each other for eighteen years. Mia goes from resistance to investigation and slowly accepts Victor; Richard and his gang, in desperation, kidnap Mia and Eileen. Victor is shot but still desperately saves his daughter, and Mia finally calls out "Daddy." Richard was ultimately sentenced to life imprisonment, Chloe, Ryan, Walker, and Harris were sentenced, the school issued a public apology, Mia graduated with her mother's surname, and the family of three was reunited.
