King Vikram and his son Dihavashi face sorcerer George, who holds Vikram’s mother captive with her heart sealed away. Guided by the vampire spirit Betal, they learn George’s hatred came from killing his brother over a false treason accusation. He split his soul into sixteen cocoons. George lures them with riddles, threatening the mother’s heart. Family ties emerge: guard Anu is George’s nephew, and Amrapali, a rival clan descendant, befriends Dihavashi. Betal reveals George’s real father was a clerk, not his brother. Regretful, George lifts curses, returns the heart, and fades away—but the cocoons hatch. Fifteen fragments are captured; the smallest, holding George’s childhood memories, stays with Dihavashi. Subplots heal rifts: Amrapali rejects revenge, Vikram’s mother mourns George, and bone rings reconnect kin. All relics are buried at a river confluence. The story ends peacefully with a mimosa sprout symbolising healing.
