The Shaw family's adopted daughter, Hazel Stark, is set to marry Mike York, the magistrate's son. But Ivy Shaw sells her to a brothel to steal her engagement. Drugged and desperate, Hazel runs into the amnesiac crown prince, Jonah Lodge. The two fall in love and raise their son together in hiding for five peaceful years. When the emperor and empress discover Jonah's whereabouts, they come to take him back. Ivy, on the other hand, wants to harm their son.
