A Broken Promise: A Mother's Tears

Episode 1 / 30DramaNova

After successive tragedies—the death of her husband and the abduction of her daughter—Huang Xia raised her only remaining family member, her son Xiaolei, all by herself. Xiaolei was mischievous from a young age; driven by greed for food, he indirectly caused his sister to be abducted. When he grew up, he became a spendthrift who not only tricked Huang Xia out of her life savings but also tried to drain her hard-earned money for his marriage. Huang Xia struggled to scrape together the betrothal gift money for the engagement, only to face the mother-in-law-to-be’s sudden demand for an increase in the amount on the wedding day. What should Huang Xia do?
