Qi Yue, the eldest daughter of the Qi family conglomerate, concealed her true identity and fell in love with Li Wenhe, the scion of a struggling family. Although she secretly supported the Li family, she was looked down upon by Li Wenhe's parents, who sought to ally with the wealthy Lei family through marriage; they sent Li Wenhe abroad for further studies alongside Lei Shu, the daughter of the Lei family, with the understanding that he and Qi Yue would marry upon his return. However, four years later, Li Wenhe announced at his homecoming banquet that he intended to marry Lei Shu. Realizing that Li Wenhe’s affections had shifted, Qi Yue used the Qi Group’s influence to blacklist both the Lei and Li families. Upon learning of the blacklist, Li Wenhe’s mother fell ill from the shock and was hospitalized; desperate to secure the hospital director's services for his mother, Li Wenhe approached Qi Yue seeking to rekindle their relationship, though his true motive was to exploit her company. He eventually discovered Qi Yue’s true identity as the heiress of the Qi family; ultimately, he and Lei Shu turned against each other and suffered the consequences of their own greed, while Qi Yue successfully ascended to the position of Chairperson of the Qi Group.
