The Queen's Checkmate, The Mistress's Dead End

War heroine Katerina returns to find her husband, King Alexander, has betrayed her with Milana—the very friend she once saved. She is even set up to publicly honor Milana and dragged through her own past wounds. Once in power, Milana's cruelty emerges. She frames Katerina for tragedies she herself caused. At the trial, Katerina exposes their crimes. General Victor arrives with his army to back her. Blood tests confirm the truth. Katerina deposes Alexander and has Milana arrested. Alexander begs for forgiveness but is exiled. Milana ends up on the streets, shamed and scorned. Katerina ascends the throne and begins a new life with Victor.
