A foolish mother-in-law trusts a liar, gives him family savings and dangerous pills. She refuses to help her son when he falls and he dies, and her daughter-in-law miscarries. The tragedy breaks the family, the father goes to jail for revenge, the daughter-in-law leaves, and she becomes paralyzed and lonely.
