Betrayed At The Bistro: My Turn To Rise

Episode 1 / 12MoboReels

I partnered with my best friend, Lin Zhiyao, to open a boutique dining restaurant ten years ago. She handled the cooking, while I managed the front desk. I trusted her completely and never bothered to scrutinize the accounting books. That was until I accidentally overheard her on the phone mocking me for being too trusting, saying the restaurant only survived because of her culinary skills and that I was only good for running errands. It turned out that ten years of deep camaraderie was nothing but calculated pretense. She still handed me the accounting book with a smile and told me I'd only get a meager sum of three thousand this month. Looking at her deceitful expression, for the first time, I didn't reach out to take it.
