Hawkins is transformed into a monster and voluntarily sacrifices himself, with his cure saving the world. Elena defeats the immortal Council of Nine and perishes alongside General Keating, only to be saved. Five years later, Elena lives in seclusion with Hawkins' daughter Maya.
