Sean Carter's ex-girlfriend tried to get him into the Sheng family by administering a drug to him, but unexpectedly, he managed to escape and began a relationship with the female lead. Fearing that her scheme would be exposed, she gave Owen Davis money, instructing him to take responsibility for the situation. Meanwhile, Ella Moore gave birth to quadruplets; her ex-girlfriend threw away three of them, leaving only one for Owen Davis to raise. Owen Davis then dominated Ella Moore for seven years; after securing a promotion and obtaining the female lead's house, he assaulted her. Later, because Ella Moore had helped the male lead's grandfather, she reunited with Sean Carter—someone she had been searching for for many years, now right beside him.
