Synopsis
Set in the near-future interstellar metropolis of New York, leaps in biotechnology have turned male pregnancy from fantasy into reality. Yet the venerable, top-tier Kane dynasty still deems it an indelible family disgrace.
Evermore, a designer from a humble background, crosses paths with Samuel Kane—the frigid, commanding president of the Kane Consortium—one late night. Drawn to each other despite their vastly different social statuses, they plunge into a passionate romance.
Tragedy strikes when the Kane family elders discover Evermore’s pregnancy and subject him to brutal coercion. To shield his unborn child and spare Samuel’s claim to the family inheritance from utter ruin, Evermore chooses to leave resolutely. He takes on a new identity, flees overseas, and raises their child in complete secrecy.
Five years later, Evermore returns quietly with Riley, his five-year-old son blessed with a prodigious, genius-level IQ. Burying his past and laying low, he joins a flagship tech group under Samuel’s corporate umbrella, longing for nothing more than a peaceful, ordinary life for himself and his son at the bottom of the corporate ladder.
