Terminally‑ill Manhattan heir Ethan Hawthorne clings to life with herbs from the hermit Master Solomon. His only chance for a full cure is to wed Lily Sinclair. Though she is treated as a poor stand‑in bride by her cruel stepfamily, Lily is secretly Master Solomon’s star pupil — a master healer, fighter, artistic muse and violin talent. She melts the arrogant Ethan’s heart. When Victoria and the Lancasters plot against her with a fake pregnancy, Lily crushes their schemes. Ethan gives his whole family’s wealth for her hand in marriage, fulfilling Master Solomon’s test of love.
