Chicago’s three major gangs recognize Whitlock Funeral Home as neutral territory, banning all violence and vendettas during funerals. On a stormy night, funeral director Nora takes delivery of a strange casket and discovers Luca, Moretti family heir, was drugged and faked his own death. Only 18 hours remain before the funeral that will assemble all underworld forces. The family’s advisor Marcel schemes to poison the attendees, ignite a gang war, and seize control of the underground. To uphold the funeral home’s neutral rule, Nora reluctantly allies with Luca, and risky romance sparks between them. But Luca breaks the truce by deploying armed men, leaving Nora alienated and deserted. They expose the full conspiracy at the memorial banquet. Luca disclaims his inheritance, rejecting violent power struggles. After the turmoil, both abandon their gang identities. They refuse a hasty love built on gratitude, choosing to let go of the past and begin anew.
